I’m a Class of 2000 alumna and am so happy to be reminded of “Team Hoyt” by the BC Bulletin. I remember watching my first Boston Marathon in 1997. I hadn’t heard anything about the Hoyts beforehand, but seeing this team pass by brought tears to my eyes- you just know there is something special at work. They are not only an inspiration; they remind us of what matters most.
What a wonderful idea to make a documentary about this inspirational family. I’d love to watch it, but I’m afraid I’m having trouble with the download. While file format must be used/video player is required?
Also, I must send a shout out to the Michalczyk family! John’s wife, Susan, was my favorite professor at BC!

What a wonderful story and inspirational message for anyone who thinks they have it tough! I’m sure Dick’s in great shape and is energized by the crowds along the way, but its obviously love — with a little help from the Father — that pushes them across the finish line. As they amply demonstrate, with love and God’s grace, we can overcome anything. Thank you Dick and Rick– and those at BC that put this together. What a story!

hello im megan…i only found out about this at a RI (religous instruction) seminar we had at our school. we watched a video about this magnificent event that happened between a father and son. it made me and alot of my friends upset, but we also realized that you both did a great thing and it was the best story i will ever hear. i’m sure many people out there would agree…i just wanted to try and find a site that had the story we watched and find out more about what you did…i just want to say well done and even though those words might not mean alot and many people properly said this but i think and believe it is a great real life story i was so happy to hear about! thank you
