Twenty–eight faculty will join Boston College this academic year. Of the 16 women and 13 men, some are beginning their academic careers, while others are sufficiently eminent that they have held endowed chairs elsewhere. The nine profiled in this slide show include an interpreter of Chinese mythology, a Jesuit who studies the physics of condensed matter, psychologists of emotion, a reader of plate tectonics, and a nurse studying date rape. A first group was profiled last month, and a third group of new faculty will be introduced in a forthcoming edition of @BC.
